Our client, a prominent player in the water utilities sector, is currently seeking experienced Workshop Technicians to join their team in Dover, Kent. These permanent positions involve mechanical work predominantly in a workshop setting, with potential occasional field assignments related to the removal, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting mechanical repairs and rebuilds of rotating equipment, including pumps, motors, and gearboxes
Measuring and testing components to ensure compliance with manufacturing guidelines
Performing inspections and quality checks on rebuilt machinery
Working to strict timelines to ensure project deadlines are met
Collaborating with the service manager and team members to enhance workshop efficiency
Occasionally assisting with on-site installations and commissioning activities
Job Requirements:
Strong mechanical skills with a specialism in rotating equipment test and rebuild
Experience working with pumps, motors, and gearboxes
Completed a time-served apprenticeship in a relevant field
Hands-on experience in the water utilities industry or similar sectors
Ability to measure and test components accurately
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Understanding of manufacturing guidelines and industry standards
Ability to work effectively within a team and under the supervision of the service manager
