Workshop & Field Service - Welder Fabricator/Mech Fitter Welder Workshop / Field Service Mechanical & Ekectrical Engineers Our Client are seeking experienced Workshop & Field Service Welder Fabricator/Mech Fitter Welders and Electrical or Mechaical Technicians to join their growing team as Workshop and Field Service Engineers. This permanent role is based in their West Horndon, Essex branch, with responsibilities covering various sites and installations across the UK, primarily in the London, South East, East Anglia & Midlands regions. Key Duties/Responsibilities Workshop & Field Service - Welder Fabricator/Mech Fitter Welder About the Position: Our Client is seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop & Field Service Welder Fabricatorsand Mechanical Fitter Welders. This dual-role position involves working from the company's workshop facilities in West Horndon, Essex, as well as supporting various field service activities and projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and fabricating metal components with precision and high standards of quality. Workshop & Field Service Welder Fabricators and Mech Fitter Welders Responsibilities/ Duties Engineering Drawings: Proficient in interpreting engineering manufacturing drawings for parts and components production Welding Expertise: Extensive experience in MIG/MAG welding, ensuring high standards Precision: Calculating dimensions and tolerances using mathematical skills and measuring tools Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail and adherence to health and safety standards Professionalism: Execute all tasks with professional conduct Experience/Quals Required Experience: Proficient in MIG/MAG welding, fabrication & mechanical fitting work with the ability to work independently from engineering drawings Qualifications: Time-served with ONC & HNC, NVQ, C&G or equivalent qualifications Communication: Clear, concise, and logical communication skills, both verbal and written Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Fitness: Capable of handling the physical demands of the job Flexibility: A positive and adaptable approach to work Workshop & Field Service Mechanical Engineers & Fitter/Welders Our Client is seeking experienced Workshop & Field Service Mechanical Engineers & Mechanical Fitter/Welders and Mechanica & Electrical Engineers, Technicians, Fitters to join our team as Workshop and Field Service Engineer/Tech/Fitter. This permanent role or long term contract role 13 to 26 weeks is based at the West Horndon branch, with responsibilities covering various sites and installations across the UK, primarily in the Essex, London, Southeast, East Anglia regions. Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for: * Performing mechanical repairs and maintenance on rotating equipment, including large turbines and a range of pumps. * Conducting maintenance on auxiliary and balance of plant (BOP) equipment, such as gearboxes, coolers, conveyors, and valves. * Utilizing measuring equipment like micrometers and alignment tooling. * Completing workshop and field service activities, including detailed reports on findings, condition assessments, and recommendations. * Communicating technical information effectively to peers and customers, both verbally and in writing. * Diagnosing mechanical equipment issues within the heavy engineering sectors. * Conducting defect repairs and routine maintenance on commercial and heavy industry machinery to meet manufacturer standards and legal requirements. * Identifying and resolving faults independently on mechanical systems. * Assisting and leading planned projects and outages as needed. * Managing work schedules efficiently. Mechanical qualifications, such as ONC & HNC, C&G NVQ, or equivalent.Proven experience in fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning.Strong customer service skills and effective communication abilities, both verbally and in writing. Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. A full, preferably clean, driving license is essential. Ability to pass security clearances. Relevant knowledge, training, and experience in heavy engineering sectors are critical. Desirable Quals & Technical skills: Experience in the power generation sector, particularly with prime movers and BOP. OEM pump or turbine experience. A strong background in rotating equipment. Strong technical abilities, including measuring and reporting skills.Good physical fitness due to the demands of the job.A flexible and positive outlook.Availability for callouts on a 1 in 5 basis.Willingness to work away from home when necessary. Location: West Horndon, (Postcode?), Essex.
