Wind Turbine Service (Onshore)
Scottish Borders
Full-time, Permanent
£35,000 - £55,000 per annum DOE + Benefits
We are seeking an AT-Qualified Wind Turbine Technician to join an onshore team in Scotland. The role will involve servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Vestas wind turbines across various sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wind turbine technology, electrical and mechanical systems, and health & safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing of Vestas onshore wind turbines.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
* Conduct repairs and component replacements as required.
* Carry out Authorised Technician (AT) responsibilities, including HV switching where necessary.
* Utilise diagnostic tools and software to monitor turbine performance.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
* Work independently and as part of a team to meet performance targets.
* Maintain accurate service records and reports on all work completed.
* Support site commissioning, upgrades, and inspections as needed.
Requirements:
* Authorised Technician (AT) Qualification with experience in HV operations.
* Qualified in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy engineering
* GWO (Global Wind Organisation) certifications.
* Proven experience working on Vestas onshore turbines (V82, V90, V112, V136, etc.).
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
* Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
* Ability to work in remote locations and adverse weather conditions.
* Strong commitment to health and safety.
Desirable Skills:
* Additional manufacturer-specific training (e.g., Vestas Service Technician Certification).
* Experience with SCADA and remote monitoring systems.
* HV (High Voltage) switching certification beyond AT level.
* Training in troubleshooting and component exchange for Vestas platforms.
