Welding Inspector – Structural Steel I am seeking a Welding Inspector for my structural steel client based in Risca. This role offers a great competitive PAYE salary with a great permanent Monday - Friday shift pattern
The Role:
As a Welding Inspector, you’ll play a vital role in quality assurance, inspecting fabricated steelwork and ensuring it meets stringent client specifications. Working on the back shift (Monday to Friday, 3pm–11pm), you’ll be a key player in maintaining the very high quality standards at this site
What’s on Offer:
Pay rate: £26.47 per hour
Annual salary: £51,616 (PAYE) Basic
Overtime opportunities
Hours Monday - Friday 3.00pm - 11.00pm (Backshift)Your Responsibilities:
Conduct dimensional, visual, and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections on structural steelwork.
Use precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to exact specifications.
Create detailed inspection reports to maintain full traceability of completed work.
Collaborate with welders and fabricators to address and resolve quality concerns.
Interpret fabrication drawings to anticipate and resolve potential production issues.
Act as an advocate for safe and efficient practices on the shop floor.
Provide guidance and training to new team members and apprentices.
Communicate effectively with production teams and management to keep operations running smoothly.The successful candidate will have:
A solid background in fabrication, welding, or quality inspection within a structural steel environment.
Experience with technical drawings and quality documentation.
PCN Level 2 certification in Visual Weld and Magnetic Particle Inspection.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
A keen eye for detail, self-motivation, and the ability to meet deadlines.Whats in it for you:
