Job Description
We require a Waste Water Treatment Engineer to join our marine client. Due to the nature of this role our client is looking at candidates preferably in the Strathcarron area however would be open to candidates relocating.
As a Waste Water Treatment Engineer you will be responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater treatment systems including pyrolysis, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to environmental regulations. Your work will play a critical part in our commitment to environmental sustainability and operational excellence. The Waste Water Treatment Engineer will work alongside the wider team to find engineering solutions to problems and strive to fix the on-site or work with contractors to efficiently provide solutions.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
* A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience, ideally in the water/wastewater or aquaculture sectors.
* Knowledge and understanding of traditional and emerging water and wastewater treatment technologies including pyrolysis units.
* Experience in the design and operation of engineering systems in the water/waste water or aquaculture sectors.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Organised and able to cope with multiple tasks and priorities - ability to work under pressure and deliver agreed objectives within strict deadlines.
* Results driven, proactive, self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative.
* ‘A hands on’ style and able to work collaboratively.
* CIWM (WAMITAB) Level 4 Operator Competence for Managing Thermal Treatment Facilities (Non Hazardous Waste: Pyrolysis) – Preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTION
* Operate and maintain wastewater treatment facilities to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of equipment.
* Collaborate with the operations team to develop and implement best practices for wastewater management.
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to system performance and

* Support environmental audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Provide technical expertise and training to team members as needed.
