Job Description

Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Coffs Harbour. Australia. $80k-$140k DOE You are a good vet, love what you do and from being a child it’s all you have ever wanted to be. You are happy in your current role but starting to get itchy feet and the thought of working overseas has always excited you. You are thinking of moving to Australia to challenge yourself, looking for a new experience, to learn, develop, and be a better vet. The outdoor lifestyle, the mountains, the beaches the long blue-sky days, their ‘happy-go-lucky’ attitude to life has had you thinking why not? Choosing a new practice is a big decision. What if we knew of a modern three hospital setup, a place that wants to make a difference with a dedicated team, where patient care and doing the right thing is just as important as the bottom line? Luckily, we do and this one is hiring. Based in the stunning coastal area of Coffs Harbour ( if you haven’t heard of it Google it,) our client is hiring for growth. With their community approach, established reputation, and a strong emphasis on providing a high level of service you can see why they have plenty of ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews on Google. As an Independent they understand that everyone has a voice, they share opinions, thoughts, case studies, and hold discussions. Your opinion is valued, and your voice is heard. The beauty of an independent is there aren’t any silly targets, and you are not being micro managed from afar, the job is tough enough without the additional stress! They offer a supportive environment with mentorship where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time. A dedicated team that wants the best for patients and practice. Their vision is ‘Caring & Progressive,’ offering the highest standard of care whilst adapting to suit a client's budget. You will be getting stuck in from the start with a real mixed bag of consults, surgeries, and interesting cases, no two days are ever the same. There is a super competent team of nurses to lean on and plenty of senior vets to lend a hand from if required. It’s a 4 day week here with just 1 in 5 weekends. So, what’s in it for you? A salary of £50k-£70k, 4 weeks annual leave, 1 week CPD leave, and 2 weeks paid sick leave. They offer a generous CPD allowance, they want you to develop here and be the best vet you can be because it’s mutually beneficial. Every year one lucky vet has the opportunity to study towards a major certificate to the tune of £2500. Based in this true coastal gem of Coffs Harbour, it offers stunning beaches, a vibrant community, great bars, restaurants, local parks, countryside, plenty of sports, excellent schools, and a hospital. With a local airport nearby Coffs Harbour has the lot! So, what’s next? Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell. Enjoy your new life as a vet on the other side of the world
