Veterinary Surgeon, Callander. Canada. $140k - $155k per annum.
You’re a good vet, an adventurous vet who is starting to get itchy feet.
Things change, circumstances change, and the thought of practicing your skills in Canada has always excited you.
Home to the Rocky Mountains, with its many lakes, forests, and national parks, its toasty summers, idyllic winter skiing, throw in some whale watching and views of the Northern Lights and Canada has the lot!
How about a new adventure on the other side of the world?
Tempted, then read on.
What if we knew of an independent hospital where work-life balance is key, where vets are free to work on their own cases in a relaxed and respectful environment, a hospital with a loyal client base who are understanding of what you do because they’ve been coming to you for years?
Well, you're in luck as we do, and this one is hiring.
Based in Callander this modern community vet hospital with a 35-year history is hiring for growth. Ideally, they are looking for a two-year experienced vet, but what is just as important is a kind, empathetic vet who is keen to get stuck in from the start. They aren’t just offering another job—it’s a chance to grow your career while enjoying the vibrant lifestyle Canada has to offer.
This hospital has a real ‘family feel,’ about it where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time. Everyone has a voice here, they share opinions, thoughts, case studies, and hold discussions. Your opinion is valued, and your voice is heard.
Wanting to extend their services locally, they have just opened a Rehab and Wellness Centre, with all modern kit nestled in 14 acres of beautiful woodland.
This is a diverse role offering a good mix of routine wellness appointments, urgent care, surgery, and some dentistry (training can be provided). They are super flexible here, and within reason you can choose what interests you the most and focus on that.
So, what’s in it for you?
$140k - $155k per annum, vet fees paid, discounted vet care, a $10k retention bonus in year 1, and $20k in year 2. They are keen on developing and investing in you. Because it’s mutually beneficial, a generous CPD allowance of $2000 will take care of that. This is a full-time role 35 hours a week with the occasional on-call.
Located in the beautiful lakeside community of Callander, there is something for everybody here. Great restaurants, bars, and a variety of shops. You can go canoeing, hiking, cycling, sking locally, plenty of sports and with the Algonquin National Park only 40 mins away, what's not to like?
So, what’s next?
Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.
Enjoy your new vet adventure on the other side of the world
