Job Description
Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Vehcile Technician to join Leicester City Council on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspect, service, diagnose, and repair vehicles, plant, and equipment.
* Prepare vehicles for testing, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
* Maintain accurate records using computerised systems and job sheets.
* Provide advice to drivers and users regarding defects and repairs.
* Ensure a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment.
* Work as part of a collaborative team to deliver high-quality maintenance services.
What We’re Looking For:
* Level 3 qualification in light/heavy vehicle or plant engineering (or equivalent).
* Proven experience in servicing, fault diagnostics, and repair of vehicles and equipment.
* Knowledge of workshop health and safety practices.
* Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and workshop ICT systems.
* A full UK driving licence (Class C LGV preferred).
Desirable:
* MOT Tester Certificate or welding competence certification.
* Experience working in a large, diverse transport maintenance facility.
