Contract Position: £550 P/D About the Role: On behalf of our client, a leading SME specialising in utilities, rail, and highways projects, Envo Talent is seeking a talented Utilities Consents Manager to join their team. This role is perfect for someone with a deep understanding of consents management, regulatory compliance, and legislation such as the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), Electricity Act, and Telecommunications Act. This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact by ensuring infrastructure projects are delivered efficiently and in full compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Consents Management: Oversee the acquisition, management, and discharge of consents in line with relevant legislation, including NRSWA, the Electricity Act, and Telecommunications Act. Build and maintain strong relationships with statutory bodies, local authorities, utilities providers, and regulators. Manage the discharge of Development Consent Order (DCO) requirements and ensure compliance with all conditions. Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for all consents-related matters, resolving queries promptly. Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure consents are obtained and discharged without impacting project timelines. Regulatory Compliance: Monitor legislative updates and advise the business on potential implications for operations. Maintain thorough and accurate records of all consents and approvals to ensure audit-readiness. Risk Management: Identify and manage risks associated with consents compliance and ensure adherence to regulatory conditions. Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on consents progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. About You – Qualifications & Experience: We are seeking candidates with the following: Significant experience in utilities consents management, with expertise in NRSWA, the Electricity Act, and Telecommunications Act. Proven success in managing consents for infrastructure projects and liaising with statutory bodies and regulatory agencies. Experience in managing Development Consent Orders (DCOs) is highly desirable. Strong stakeholder management skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Outstanding organisational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Desirable Experience: Familiarity with the utilities, highways, or rail sectors. In-depth understanding of legal and regulatory documentation, including interpreting and applying complex requirements. Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
