Job Description
Orbital Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Transport Planner on a permanent basis for a Nationwide 3PL provider based in BOSTON. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, forward-thinking company with lots of opportunity for development.
Transport Planner Duties:
This is a full-time on-site role as a Transport Planner located in Boston. The Transport Planner will be responsible for planning and coordinating transportation routes, managing daily transport operations, and ensuring efficient utilization of the vehicle fleet. The candidate will liaise with drivers and customers, analyse transport data, and optimize transportation models to improve service delivery and cost-efficiency.
Transport Planner Experience Needed/ About You:
* General Transport knowledge
* PC literate
* Knowledge and experience of fleet management packages and the ability to quickly learn to use them.
* General IT Knowledge to include Excel, Word etc.
* Excellent self-motivation and able to work under own supervision.
* Team player with the ability to instil confidence and drive in others.
* The ability to co-ordinate a variety of tasks simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
* The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with management, drivers, customers and suppliers.
* Flexibility – the ability to adapt and cope with the unexpected.
* Able to live by our company values of; supportive, progressive, resilient and connected.
Hours/Shift Pattern:
* Alternating shifts weekly (07:00 – 16:00 & 09:30 – 18:30)
* The later shift each week also comes with managing the out of hours duty phone in the evenings and over the weekend, this pays an additional £75.00 for each week it is taken
