Trainee Tax Consultant Hybrid / 1 day in Rugby £Excellent + Exceptional Benefits Do you have an interest in Tax/Accountancy? We are looking for a Tax Trainee to work as part of a team specialising in IR35 and self-employed status. The opportunity: It's an exciting time to join, as our business grows, and we have a great new role for a Trainee Tax Consultant to join our team based in Rugby. The roles sits within the companies Tax and contract Solutions team. Contractor Solutions has been at the forefront of advising clients on the changing environment for contractors and has scored notable successes before the tribunals on IR35 and self-employed status. In addition to advising clients on the implications of the rules, this company is able to arrange Tax Indemnity Insurance to protect businesses against unexpected tax demands, as well as more conventional tax advisory work in reviewing contractual chains, working practices and contractual documentation. We are looking for a tax trainee to work as part of a team specialising in IR35 and self-employed status. We are looking for a confident, organised and motivated person to work with a growing team with a proven track record of success in tribunal. The role involves dealing with contractors and accountants and providing written and verbal advice in respect of a contractor's IR35 tax position and potential insurance products offered as well as administration of that advice and applicable policies. Our team work one day per week in our Rugby office (Tuesdays) with 4 days working from home. Shifts are: 9am-5.30pm, 8.30am-5pm. What you'll be doing: * Provide technical advice to clients of Markel Tax in respect of IR35 by reviewing written contracts and working practices and then providing a written report of that opinion * Respond to phone calls and email queries in respect of IR35, the contract review process and IR35 insurances * Support other members of the team and ensure administration of contract reviews is up to date * Ensuring clients receive their written opinion within the appropriate timeframes * Read case law judgements and attend training to develop knowledge and understanding of IR35 and self-employed status * Act with honesty and integrity in all dealings with clients, contacts and team members whilst respecting confidentiality and building trust Our must haves: * Any Tax, Accountancy or Legal knowledge or experience would be beneficial along with an interest in Tax / looking for a career within Tax Consulting * Attention to detail * Excellent communication skills * Good MS Office skills * Ability to read documents and case files accurately * Good organisational and administrative skills What's in it for you? * A great starting salary plus annual bonus & strong benefits package… * 25 days paid holiday plus Bank Holidays, with the opportunity to buy / sell extra leave * Fantastic company pension scheme, private medical and dental cover, life assurance, travel insurance cover, income protection, season ticket loan as well as other great benefits on offer * There are countless opportunities to learn new skills and develop in your career and we can provide the support needed to do just that
