Job Title: Trainee Insurance Consultant
Location: POOLE (PARKSTONE) (Onsite)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive £23,000 - £28,000
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and eager-to-learn Trainee Insurance Consultant to join our small, friendly team. As a Trainee Insurance Consultant, you will gain valuable industry knowledge, learn to assess clients' insurance needs, and provide support across various insurance services, all while working in a close-knit, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Help customers by providing advice on a variety of insurance products, including personal lines (home, motor) and potentially commercial or business insurance.
* Support clients in understanding their insurance needs and guide them through policy options.
* Help prepare quotations for clients and assist with the completion of insurance applications.
* Provide administrative support, including managing client records, updating systems, and ensuring accurate documentation.
* Learn how to handle client inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional customer service under the supervision of more experienced colleagues.
* Participate in training sessions to develop knowledge of different insurance products, sales techniques, and industry regulations.
* Assist with policy renewals, amendments, and claims processing.
* Shadow senior staff and learn about the process of cross-selling and up-selling additional products based on client needs.
* Ensure all interactions with clients and records comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
* A genuine interest in pursuing a career in the insurance industry.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and explain information clearly.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop.
* Ability to work well as part of a small team, contributing to a positive, collaborative work environment.
* Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and an ability to learn new software.
* A customer-focused mindset with an interest in providing excellent service.
Desirable Qualifications:
* No previous experience in insurance is required, though any exposure to customer service or sales roles is beneficial.
* A relevant qualification or interest in pursuing insurance qualifications (e.g., the CII Certificate in Insurance) would be an advantage, but not essential.
* A good standard of education, such as GCSEs or equivalent.

Hours:
* Monday - Friday - 08:30 - 5 pm
* Every 2nd Saturday - 08:30 - 12pm (Rota, TOIL)
