Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and organised Trade Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our trade operations by providing exceptional customer service, assisting with sales, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist customers with inquiries and provide information about products and services in person and on the telephone.
* Engage with customers to promote sales opportunities and upsell additional products.
* Maintain an organised workspace and ensure that all materials are readily available for trade activities.
* Handle phone calls with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
* Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
* Perform basic mathematical calculations for transactions and inventory management.
* Load customer vehicles with purchased materials
* Assist in maintaining inventory levels and report any discrepancies or needs for restocking.
* Receive and check incoming stock deliveries
Qualifications
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
* Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
* Previous experience in a customer service or sales role is an advantage.
* Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions accurately.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences.
* A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new challenges within the trade sector.
* Excellent phone etiquette.

* Physical fitness to handle heavy materials
* Strong customer service skills
* Good numerical skills for calculating quantities
* Basic knowledge of building materials (beneficial)
* Ability to work in all weather conditions
* Team player mentality
* Forklift certification beneficial but not required
