Title: Technical Specialist – LCMS/GCMS
Location: North West
Duration: Permanent
Our client is looking for a Technical Specialist within GCMS and LCMS techniques to join their expanding team in the North West of England.
Responsibilities:
• Lead method development and validation projects, from initiation to final documentation
• Lead investigations into client complaints and resolve issues
• Validate analytical methods to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Manage and schedule instrument repairs and maintenance
• Monitor and ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of analytical methods
• Conduct audits of methods as part of the UKAS 17025 accreditation program
• Troubleshoot analytical issues and apply problem-solving skills
• Possess expert knowledge of instrument software and its application
• Contribute to capital expenditure planning and needs
• Investigate and report non-conformities in work processes
• Minimize rework through continuous monitoring and improvement
• Identify team training needs in methods and procedures, ensuring ongoing competency
• Provide guidance and assistance on queried results
• Investigate staff deviations from procedures and implement corrective actions
• Review processes and offer advice to improve productivity
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies and company procedures
• Proactively identify and raise Health and Safety concerns
• Collaborate with the Team Leader to enhance safety, environment, and staff well-being
• Report any near-misses or incidents to the line manager
Requirements:
You will be a technical expert in LCMS and GCMS with experience in troubleshooting of the instrumentation.
• A BSc or equivalent in a scientific discipline
• Experience in method development – GCMS/LCMS
• GCMS/MS or LCMS/MS experience is advantageous
• In depth knowledge or analytical instrumentation techniques
• Previous experience in training others in GCMS and LCMS
• Sound understanding of Quality Management Systems
• Experience in troubleshooting instruments
