Job Description

Part-Time Teaching Assistant Location: North Chesterfield Primary School Contract Type: Part-Time (Monday to Wednesday) Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a small, well-managed primary school in North Chesterfield. This part-time role is ideal for a compassionate and enthusiastic individual who has experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly in Key Stage 1 or lower Key Stage 2. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one support for two Year 1 children with additional needs. Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets the individual needs of each child. Assist with classroom activities, ensuring both children are engaged and supported in their learning. Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as required. Requirements: Previous experience working with children with SEND in a school setting is essential. Ideally, experience supporting Key Stage 1 children (or lower Key Stage 2). A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a well-established team. A relevant qualification in childcare or education (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential. Why Join Us?
