Summary of the Energy & Environmental Manager role:
Our client is seeking an Energy & Environmental Manager to develop, implement, and oversee energy efficiency and environmental sustainability initiatives across the organisation. This role involves analysing current practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving cost savings through effective energy management, and promoting environmental stewardship. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in energy management, environmental regulations, and sustainable practices.
Energy & Environmental Manager Deliverables / Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
Energy Management:
* Develop and implement energy efficiency programs and initiatives that reduce consumption and cost.
* Monitor energy usage across facilities and identify areas for improvement.
* Collaborate with engineering and facility management teams to integrate energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources.
* Track and report on energy consumption metrics and savings achieved.
Environmental Sustainability:
* Design and execute environmental management systems to minimise the organisation’s environmental footprint.
* Oversee waste management, recycling programs, and sustainable resource use.
* Lead efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable practices.
* Ensure that operations comply with environmental regulations and industry standards.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:
* Stay updated on environmental laws and regulations.
* Prepare and submit required environmental permits, reports, and compliance documentation.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental audits and inspections.
Project Management:
* Plan and manage projects related to energy conservation and environmental sustainability from inception to completion.
* Work with cross-functional teams to align project goals with organisational strategy.
* Develop budgets, timelines, and performance metrics for sustainability projects.
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives.
* Liaise with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
* Communicate progress, challenges, and achievements related to energy and environmental goals to senior leadership.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed:
* Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
* Advanced degree or relevant certifications, e.g. LEED, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), are preferred.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy management, environmental compliance, or sustainability roles.
* Proven track record of managing successful energy efficiency and environmental projects.
* Experience with data analysis and reporting in a corporate or industrial setting.
* Proficiency in energy management systems, environmental monitoring tools, and data analysis software.
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to environmental management.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Strategic thinker with attention to detail and a proactive approach to challenges.

Salary: £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
