You’ll act as a finance business partner assessing the commercial viability of potential acquisitions through product modelling and due diligence while helping work through and enhance the bank-wide process for undertaking mergers and acquisitions

What you'll do
As a Strategic Finance Adviser within Retail Finance, you’ll help to drive value for the business and assist the leadership team to make key product, cost and investments specific decisions by providing insight and market knowledge while helping to manage the financial performance of the business.
You’ll also be:
Understanding and challenging financial performance, providing relevant and meaningful insight to the business including internal and external MI such as competitor analysis
Collaborating with other Finance teams to provide specific financial plans, forecasts, stress testing and customer, market or segment analysis
Supporting the provision of review and challenge to ensure the optimum use of resources presented in investment decisions and business cases
Using the data and analytics thinking required to solve strategic problems using the latest tools and techniques and contributing towards automation and simplification of key Finance-wide services e.g. dashboards
Analysing financial regulatory change impact on products and services
Providing investment tracking and forecasting reviews
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll need good stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate and influence. Along with planning and organisation capabilities, you’ll need the ability to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty and risk and work in a flexible environment.
You’ll also demonstrate:
Good data analysis and modelling skills
The ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise and non-technical manner
The ability to create and review plans, forecasts, models and stress scenarios
Strategic awareness and the ability to apply business knowledge, expertise and challenge to support the business
Good finance functional knowledge, accounting knowledge and product area and market segment knowledge
