Job Description

Are you an experienced nurse with a passion for supporting children and young people with ADHD? We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Nurse - ADHD (Independent/Supplementary Prescriber V300) to join our well-established team in South Staffordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in providing assessment, diagnosis, and management of ADHD within a supportive and multidisciplinary environment. About the Role: As a key member of the Community Paediatrics Team, you will: * Conduct preliminary assessments and contribute to the diagnostic process for ADHD. * Lead nurse-led clinics, supporting children, young people, and their families through pre- and post-diagnosis care. * Act as a Non-Medical Prescriber, ensuring safe and effective medication management in line with national guidelines. * Work closely with Consultant Paediatricians, GPs, schools, social services, and other agencies to provide a holistic and family-centred approach to care. * Provide expert guidance, training, and support to families, educational settings, and professionals to promote understanding and effective management of ADHD. * Facilitate smooth transitions for young people moving into adult ADHD services. * Participate in service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care. What We’re Looking For: * Registered Nurse with active NMC registration. * V300 Independent/Supplementary Prescriber qualification. * Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs and neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly ADHD. * Strong assessment and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex information from various sources. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with young people, families, and multidisciplinary teams. * A proactive and compassionate approach to delivering high-quality patient care.
