Software Engineer
Exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to join an innovative stealth start-up in Saffron Walden who are tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Location: Saffron Walden, UK – fully on-site due to the nature of the role
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum
Requirements for Software Engineer
* Solid commercial experience within a Software Engineering position
* Proficient in Python
* 1st class honours or high 2.1 degree from a top university in Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Electronics or similar.
* Minimum of AAA at A Level or equivalent UCAS points
* Must be proficient in Object-Oriented programming with a natural ability to pick up new programming languages
* Strong problem-solving ability, with a proactive nature in asking questions to expand your knowledge
* Any exposure to working with embedded or hardware development would be beneficial
* Any experience with mobile app development on iOS or Android would also be helpful
* Ideally, you will be in a position to qualify for SC Clearance due to the nature of some customers
Responsibilities for Software Engineer
* Work on multiple software development projects from prototype phase through to full products
* Work alongside team members to design and develop software solutions addressing the company’s unique challenges.
* Develop techniques for data collection, preprocessing, and optimisation to support machine learning and algorithm development.
* Take responsibility for managing and maintaining operational company systems, primarily Linux-based.
