Birmingham Children's Trust is looking for a dedicated Fostering Social Worker to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established fostering service, supporting foster carers and ensuring the best outcomes for children in care.
About the Role:
As a Fostering Social Worker, you will:
Provide supervision and support to foster carers, ensuring compliance with fostering regulations and best practices.
Conduct fostering assessments (Form F, Connected Persons, SGO) and present findings to panel.
Deliver training and development sessions for foster carers.
Work closely with children’s social workers, therapeutic services, and education teams to provide holistic support for children in care.
Complete statutory visits, risk assessments, and safeguarding investigations where necessary.
Contribute to placement stability through regular reviews and support planning.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Social Work England registration.
A recognised social work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW).
Experience within fostering, looked after children, or a related social work team.
Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, relevant legislation, and safeguarding procedures.
The ability to build positive relationships with foster carers and children.
