Job Description

About the Role: Winlight Recruitment is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join Ealing Council’s Children’s Duty and Assessment Team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families, working within a supportive and dynamic team. As a Social Worker in this team, you will manage a manageable caseload, undertake initial assessments, and respond to duty calls as part of a rotating duty schedule every 5 weeks. The role requires you to be in the office every Thursday, with the flexibility to work from home on other days. Key Responsibilities: * Undertake initial assessments and respond to duty calls for children and families in need of support. * Manage a manageable caseload of children and families, ensuring timely and effective interventions. * Provide high-quality assessments, care plans, and reports in line with statutory requirements. * Participate in the duty rota, ensuring that urgent referrals and safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly. * Work collaboratively with other professionals, including health, education, and other social care teams. * Attend the office every Thursday, with the flexibility to work from home on other days. * Attend meetings, case reviews, and provide support to other team members as required. Required Qualifications & Experience: * A Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent) and HCPC registration. * At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a children’s social work setting. * Experience in conducting assessments and working in a duty and assessment capacity is desirable. * A strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practices. * Excellent communication and report-writing skills. * Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle a busy workload.
