Site Supervisor – Civils Scheme (North West London)

Company Overview:
We are working with a national -based utilities and civil engineering contractor, delivering a diverse range of projects across drainage, ducting, utilities, and external works. As they continue to expand, they are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join the team to oversee a new scheme on Old Oak Common, focusing on utilities installation, ducting, and excavation works.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise the excavation, ducting, and utility installation activities on-site, ensuring all work is carried out safely, on schedule, and in compliance with specifications.
* Work closely with the Site Manager to provide progress updates and ensure adherence to project plans.
* Manage plant, labor, and materials to ensure smooth site operations, especially related to trenching, utilities, and ducting works.
* Conduct daily task briefings to ensure clear communication of site activities, risks, and project goals.
* Complete and manage all permits to work, ensuring that required documentation and legal compliance are in place at all times.
* Oversee and check that all works, including drainage, utilities installation, and excavation, are completed in accordance with project drawings and job specifications.
* Liaise with clients and local authorities to ensure smooth project delivery and compliance with local regulations.
* Ensure the site complies with all health and safety regulations, particularly with regards to excavation and utilities work.
* Track and maintain accurate records of all works, including materials used, works completed, and site progress.
Essential Requirements:
* Right to work in the UK.
* CSCS card (Supervisor level).
* SSSTS/SMSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme / Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
* NRSWA (National Road and Street Works Act) qualification for streetworks and utilities operations.
* Cat & Genny ticket for utility location and detection.
* Proven experience in ducting excavation, utilities installation, and civil engineering projects.
* Full UK driving license.
* Experience in managing site operations, including safety, materials, and workforce on civils projects.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, including managing subcontractors.
* Ability to work with a practical, hands-on approach to ensure projects stay on track.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
* Excellent communication, organisational, planning, and time management abilities.
* Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale schemes, particularly in the utilities and civil engineering sectors.
* Ability to manage and understand team strengths and weaknesses to optimise performance.
* Ability to motivate and lead a team in a high-paced, dynamic environment.
