Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker
Location: Dorset
Salary: £16 - £20 per hour (£33,000 - £41,000)
Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm (Full-time, Permanent)
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join our Production Team. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will play a crucial role in producing precision sheet metal components to customer specifications using a variety of fabrication techniques and machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacture sheet metal details according to customer drawings and tooling.
Operate a range of sheet metal machinery, including Wheeling Jigs, Rollers, Brake Press, Stretch Former, Shrinkers, and Stretching Machines.
Read and follow engineering drawings and planning sheets to ensure accurate fabrication.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace in line with health and safety standards.
Work independently or as part of a team to meet tight production deadlines.
Support other departments when required (following appropriate training).
Required Experience:
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Hands-on experience in hand-forming double-curvature aluminium and steel parts.
Full indentured apprenticeship in aviation or a similar field.
Experience in sheet metal production.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality standards.
Ability to grasp complex concepts and work methodically.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Highly customer-focused, proactive, and output-driven.
A problem-solving mindset with an analytical approach.
Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Hands-on, motivated, and adaptable, with a 'can-do' attitude.
IT literacy and an understanding of ITAR/EAR compliance may be required.
