£30,000 – £33,000 per year
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Job role:
To mentor and support young people in their schools and on their estates that are on the edge of school exclusion, mental health issues or serious youth violence through 1-2-1’s, after school positive activities, holiday programmes and residentials.
Experience
* Minimum of two years’ working with young people on the edge of serious youth violence or poor mental health in a full time paid capacity including:
* information, advice and guidance
* 1-2-1 mentoring
* workshops
* Managing safeguarding incidents
* Experience of leading youth work sessions and detached work
Qualification
* Minimum Level 3 youth work qualification or equivalent with level 2 in English
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to develop relationships within secondary schools with all staff with parents and stakeholders within a community context
* Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative
* Ability to manage young people in a one-to-one and group setting
