An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established housing provider in the UK. My client has a large portfolio of supported living projects and offers generic housing management and supported housing services.
Vacancy Brief:
* The vacancy is that of a Senior Support Worker – Ex offenders.
* This is a potential temp to perm vacancy; full-time role, 35 hours per week.
* Job role is based in Colchester but travel to Ipswich will be required on an odd occasion.
* This post will be 8 hours working day, Monday - Friday with the requirement of covering 1 Saturday in 5 Saturdays.
* Pay rate for this vacancy is £14.66 per hour on PAYE OR £19.00 Umbrella.
* Mileage will be paid at 0.45p per mile for any work-related travel.
* Full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is required.
* A current Enhanced DBS will be required for this vacancy.
* Service User group is low to medium risk prison leavers over 18 living in the community.
* Post holder will be looking after 3-4 properties and GPS tracked alert com will be provided.
The Responsibilities:
* As a Senior Support Worker, you will support service users in complying with bail, HDC (Home Detention Curfew), and other orders/licence conditions to reduce the likelihood of further offending or breaches.
* In your job role as a Senior Support worker, you will be collaborating with service users to create individual, strength-based Support Plans.
* Part of your role as a Support worker will be required to maintain high-quality housing and property management for residents across a designated geographical area.
* An important part of your job role will be to assist the Service Lead in meeting contract requirements and managing the team on a daily basis.
* Furthermore, you will provide guidance and support to the support workers, to ensure they are effectively promoting independent living.
Skill Outcomes of this role:
This role provides an excellent springboard into other criminal justice professions including experience of working with a range of criminal justice agencies.
In addition, you will gain experience in liaising local authority Housing Benefit departments and the DWP to resolve financial issues.
