About the Opportunity:
We are partnering with a well-established and dynamic company to find a Structural Engineer to join their high-performing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing technical expertise, producing structural calculations, conducting site surveys, and reviewing contractor method statements. What You’ll be doing:
Answer technical queries and resolve non-conformance: You will be the go-to person for addressing and solving technical issues that arise during the design and construction process, ensuring all non-conformance are resolved swiftly and efficiently.
Produce and check structural calculations for site modifications: You will prepare, review, and validate structural calculations for any changes required on-site, ensuring all modifications meet the required engineering standards and project specifications.
Conduct site surveys and review contractor method statements: Regular site surveys will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the on-site work aligns with the design and assessing any necessary adjustments. Additionally, you will review contractor method statements to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Collaborate with construction teams to assess impacts on design: You’ll be actively engaging with construction teams to understand their requirements, evaluating how these impact the design, and assessing the scope of work to ensure seamless integration between design and execution.
What You Could Have:
Degree or HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, with post-Chartership experience as a Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE).
Proactive, self-starter: You should be able to work independently while contributing positively to the team. Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills are essential to succeed in this role.
A deep understanding of CDM Regulations to ensure all engineering activities comply with current safety and health standards, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with STAAD: Proficiency in STAAD software is required to handle structural analysis and design tasks effectively.
Proficiency in producing calculations using Excel, ensuring all structural calculations are accurate and comply with project requirements.
IOSH Working/Managing Safely or equivalent: This certification will ensure you’re well-versed in safety procedures and can implement best practices on-site.
