Senior Site Manager / Project Manager Civils Engineering & Groundworks Yorkshire Start: Mid – Late Feb 2025 Duration: Ongoing Rate: £320 - £380 per day DoE My client is a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor, delivering groundwork packages for large-scale construction projects across the UK for a Tier 1 Client base. They are seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Site Manager / Project Manager to oversee site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. THE ROLE As a Freelance Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the daily site activities, coordinating with site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery. You will play a key role in maintaining health and safety standards, driving productivity, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. • Overseeing and managing groundworks and civil engineering packages • Coordinating site activities, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently. • Managing site teams, subcontractors, and liaising with Main Contractor. • Ensuring all health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to. • Monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules • Reporting any issues / delays to senior management. THE CANDIDATE • Proven track record of delivering Groundworks and Civils Packages • Ideally 8-10 years Industry Experience • Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage and general civil engineering practices • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certs are all essential • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive projects forward effectively. • Flexible to work across various UK locations.
