Job Description
Are you a strategic thinker and strong negotiator with a background in FMCG or food retail? A leading FMCG company in the North West is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join its dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategies and driving value within a fast-paced, market-leading organisation.
About the Role:
As Senior Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:
Strategically sourcing goods and services to enhance quality and drive innovation at optimal cost.
Leading category management strategies and cross-functional teams.
Ensuring responsible sourcing in line with ethical, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
Acting as a consultative partner, providing insights across spend categories.
Championing best-in-class procurement processes and governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimise cost and supplier relationships.
Utilise SAP Ariba and other tools to drive procurement efficiency.
Lead negotiations and establish long-term supplier partnerships.
Provide market intelligence and regular reporting on cost-saving initiatives.
Manage supplier relationships, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing.
Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills.
Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP experience desirable).
Understanding of contract principles and supplier development.
Degree-level qualification (business-related preferred) and CIPS accreditation (desirable).
Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and overseas.
