Job Description

Service care Solutions are working alongside a local authority in Oldham for a Senior Pensions Officer to join their team on a temporary contract. Please find a description of the role below. Role: Senior Pensions Officer Rate: £20-£21per hour (umbrella/limited) Location: Oldham Contract: 3 months on going Working: Hybrid (3 days in office ideally) Role Overview: Ensure all pension work requests are processed accurately and within defined timescales, in line with policies and procedures. Prepare and submit notifications to various pension funds promptly and accurately. Assist in the production of annual returns for the Council and other Pension Schemes. Support the Senior Payroll Officers in the preparation of year-end and statutory/non-statutory returns. Provide training and development support to individuals within the team, under the guidance of the Payroll Lead. Liaise with customers to address queries related to data, processes, procedures, and regulations in the preparation of payroll. Maintain and archive pensions data and records securely, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. Attend meetings with internal and external clients as required. Assist in managing escalated and/or complex pension issues alongside pension officers. Manage pension team activities to ensure legislative and organisational deadlines are met.
