Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior Payroll Officer to join our client’s team. This role is responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing payroll support to employees and HR teams.
Key Details:
Temporary contract from 24th February 2025 – 26th May 2025 (potential to go permanent)
Hybrid working (office based in W8)
Full-time, 36 hours per week
Rates: £27.40 ph PAYE / £34.48 ph UmbrellaYour Role:
Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
Administer statutory deductions (tax, NI, pension contributions, etc.).
Resolve payroll queries from employees, managers, and HR teams.
Ensure accurate payroll records and reporting in line with audit requirements.
Support end-to-end payroll processing, including new starters, leavers, and adjustments.
Work closely with finance and HR teams to maintain payroll integrity.
Assist in pension administration and compliance reporting.What We’re Looking For:
Strong payroll processing experience in a local government or public sector setting.
Knowledge of HMRC payroll legislation, tax codes, and statutory deductions.
Experience with payroll software (Oracle, iTrent, or similar systems preferred).
Attention to detail and ability to handle complex payroll data.
