We have a great opportunity for a Junior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to work at sites around the UK.   Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer – The Role: As a Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality power generation and emergency backup systems. Your expertise and hands-on approach will ensure smooth installations, effective communication with clients and colleagues, and a flexible response to rapidly changing project needs. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys taking ownership of complex engineering challenges. Your contributions will directly impact our mission to provide reliable, cutting-edge power solutions across the UK. Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the MD, this senior role of installation and Commissioning Engineer will involve: - Installation of new hardware to existing installations including power and control cabling - Provision of software for ComAp and DeepSea control systems - Modification of existing power generation systems - Develop system functional specifications and test specifications - Fault diagnosis and rectification on generator control systems - System testing to meet client and specification requirements - Liaison with customers and other interested parties   Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer – You:  To be successful for this role you must: - Educated to ONC / OND / HNC / HND level in one of the following engineering fields: Instrumentation, Control or Electrical or be a time served Electrician looking to change career - Have a background in power generation and experience in commissioning plc control systems - Have good technical knowledge of switchgear and generator system controls for either / both gas / diesel engines using ComAp or Deep Sea controllers - Be familiar with the principles of emergency generator operation & synchronisation, including knowledge of G59 and G99 - Knowledge of communication networks such as CAN, Serial (RS232/485) and Ethernet - Knowledge of power generation / Battery energy storage systems and 3 phase electrical systems - Hold a valid CSCS or ECS Card - Full Valid Driving License - PC literate with Knowledge of Microsoft packages such as word, excel and powerpoint Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Benefits: - 33 days of holiday including statutory holidays - Enhanced pension contributions - Company van, laptop, and mobile phone - Corporate workwear and PPE provided Application Process: Don’t miss your chance to join Applied Power Engineering!
