Exciting Contract Opportunity: Senior Designer (15 Positions) - BAE Systems Submarines
Are you an experienced designer looking for an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge submarine projects? Our client is seeking 15 Senior Designers on a contract basis to join our dynamic team. If you have a strong understanding of design processes, tools, and techniques and want to broaden your knowledge and experience in submarine design, this is the perfect role for you!
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop solutions for a range of design challenges using FORAN or other design tools.
Apply fundamental design processes, tools, and systems effectively.
Expand knowledge and experience in submarine design.
Develop models, drawings, and other design outputs to meet contractual requirements.
Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including external customers and operations teams.
Perform self-verification of tasks to ensure quality and accuracy.
Support and mentor designers and apprentices within the team.
Continually seek improvements in processes, tools, and techniques.
Engage in high-risk and high-complexity tasks under project leader guidance.
What We're Looking For:
Knowledge & Experience:
Strong understanding of design techniques and industrial design processes.
Proficiency in using design tools, company standards, and systems.
Ability to work autonomously while adhering to professional engineering principles.
Experience in developing and mentoring junior designers or apprentices.
Skills:
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
Leadership qualities with a mentoring approach to team development.
Qualifications:
Typically on an IEng career path, working towards chartership with an HNC/HND.
Consideration given to those working towards a degree or possessing relevant experience in the discipline.
