Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering design, with hands-on experience in various construction and fabrication techniques. This role requires creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring high-quality outcomes. The Senior Design Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards.
Duties:
Lead the design and development of engineering projects from concept through to completion.
Utilise CAD software to create detailed designs and technical drawings.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure designs are feasible and meet project requirements.
Conduct thorough analysis of designs for functionality, safety, and compliance with regulations.
Oversee the fabrication process, ensuring that materials are used efficiently and effectively.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
Conduct site visits to assess project progress and resolve any design-related issues.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and technologies relevant to engineering design.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
Proven experience in a similar role within the engineering sector.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for fabrication tasks.
Strong skills in carpentry, welding, electrical work, plumbing, painting, roofing, and masonry.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Familiarity with relevant software applications for design and project management.
