Job Title: SEN Specialist Tutor

About the Role
As an SEN Specialist Tutor, you will design and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the unique needs of SEN students. Your responsibilities include adapting teaching strategies to ensure every learner receives the support they require, monitoring progress, and collaborating with parents and professionals. This role focuses on improving both Maths and English skills, with a preference for candidates experienced in teaching both subjects.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one or small group tuition in Maths and/or English for SEN students.
Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address the specific needs of each student.
Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
Monitor student progress and deliver regular feedback to parents/guardians and relevant stakeholders.
Foster a supportive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience working with SEN children.
Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in Maths or English (experience in both subjects is preferred).
Must have the right to work in the UK.
Must have, or be willing to undertake, an enhanced DBS check.
A SEN qualification is essential.
Desired Qualifications
A PGCE in a core subject (Maths or English) and/or QTS is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to engage and motivate SEN students.
A proactive and adaptable approach to teaching, with a genuine passion for making a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable learners.
