Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant - Portsmouh Primary School (PO6)
U Educate are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our Key Stage 1 team.
Role Overview
As an SEN LSA, you will support children with special educational needs in a variety of ways, including one-to-one and small group support. You will work closely with our class teachers and SENCO to ensure that students with SEN are able to engage with and benefit from the curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:

One-to-One & Small Group Support: Provide tailored support to children with SEN to help them access learning activities.
*
Collaborative Working: Assist the class teacher and SENCO in creating and delivering inclusive lesson plans.
*
Progress Monitoring: Help track and record student progress, ensuring any necessary adjustments are made to learning strategies.
*
Encouragement & Independence: Promote self-confidence, independence, and social skills in children.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience with SEN: Prior experience working with children with special educational needs in a primary school (Key Stage 1 experience is preferred).

Compassionate Approach: A caring, patient, and empathetic attitude towards supporting children with SEN.

Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Safeguarding Awareness: A good understanding of safeguarding policies and child protection procedures.
