Job Description
SEN Learning Mentor – Driver
Location: Plymouth
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £80-£90
Start Date: ASAP
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Mentor to join a specialist school in Plymouth supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN.
Assist in implementing personalised learning plans to help students achieve their full potential.
Support students in the classroom, ensuring they engage with lessons and develop independence.
Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
Encourage social interaction, emotional well-being, and positive behaviour.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Support students during breaks, lunchtime, and school activities to ensure their safety and inclusion.
Requirements
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are mandatory.
Experience working with children with SEN is desirable but not essential.
Strong communication skills with a compassionate and patient approach.
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required.
A clear commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
