Job Description
The HireWorks are working with a fantastic school in Cambridge who are looking for a School Caretaker to work on an initial 6 month fixed-term contract.
The role is full-time, working weekday evenings and alternate weekends. The typical hours are Monday to Friday 16:00 – 22:30 and alternate weekends working on site and also on-call.
Typical duties would include:
* Being a key holder and ensuring the buildings and premises are secured when leaving at night.
* Conducting full site patrols with checks of the school buildings and grounds.
* Acting as an emergency service liaison for the school
* Recording any incidents or problems in the relevant log books
* Conducting safety checks as required by the Health and Safety Manager.
The Successful Candidate
* Previous experience working in a similar role within the education sector.
* Able to communicate clearly when responding to incidents to ensure safety protocols are followed.
* Able to work under own initiative and able to follow instruction while required.
* Good knowledge of Fire evacuation procedures.
The successful candidate will be required to live within 20 minutes of the school in case of emergency call outs.
