Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of marine propulsion equipment to all sectors of industry. The company has been on a consistent upward trajectory in recent years, and they are now looking to recruit an additional Sales Engineer who can be an important part of the team to help them through the next phases of their growth and expansion.
As their Sales Engineer you will work as part of a small close-knit team presenting products and services to clients and delivering tailored solutions that meet their requirements.
The Company is dedicated to nurturing talent and providing extensive training to help you grow in your career, so whilst you don't need to be “the finished article” you will need to possess a technical/engineering background combined with excellent communication skills, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction and problem-solving.
This role is office based with occasional customer field visits, overseas travel, and attendance at trade exhibitions.

What you’ll be doing as their Sales Engineer
A typical day as their Sales Engineer will involve:
* Prepare technical offers and quotations from customer enquiries
* Developing enquiries, building a sales pipeline, and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction
* Ensure all customer queries are monitored and managed efficiently
* Communicate with customers to problem solve and sell the best solution
* Creating harmonious working relationship with all other areas of the company including daily dialogue with the manufacturing group

Skills needed for this exciting Sales Engineer opportunity:
* Preferably a background working in a technical/mechanical engineering related environment. Marine industry background would be a real bonus!
* Have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Developing and maintaining relationships is critical to their business
* Be accurate and disciplined
* Possess energy, enthusiasm and ambition. A person who thrives on a challenge and sense of achievement
* Be IT literate, including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel
* Possess mathematical and numerical skills
* Have a strong work ethic, capable of managing a diverse and time critical workload
* Be intuitive and able to be reactive as well as proactive without continual supervision
* Have a flexible approach to work and colleagues
* Hold a current UK Driving Licence
* Ideally located within a 20-mile commuting radius of Newton Abbot
This is a full time, permanent role working 39 hours per week; Monday to Friday
