About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team in Inverness. You will play a pivotal role in evolving our Safety Management System to meet the needs of the site while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead safety initiatives, develop training programmes, and work closely with other West Fraser Europe sites to promote best practices and achieve our Health & Safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Evolve the existing Safety Management System to meet site requirements and ensure legal compliance.
Provide specialist Health & Safety knowledge and support to site personnel.
Develop and coordinate the delivery of the Safety training programme.
Collaborate with other West Fraser Europe sites to share best practices and implement the West Fraser safety vision.
Assist in developing systems that promote personal ownership of Safety.
Develop a Process Safety Management System and foster a perfect Process Safety Performance culture on site.
Lead High-Risk Employee Management and High-Risk Scenario training.
Complete Hazard and Operability Studies on critical processes and all new investments/significant changes.
Act as the Safety Steering Committee Owner, providing clear direction to leaders and all safety subcommittees.
Manage the Change Owner process for Personal and Process Safety.
Ensure all H&S reports and Leading Indicators are delivered within timelines.
About You:
Proven experience in a Safety Manager role, preferably in a high-risk environment.
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to develop and implement effective safety training programmes.
Experience with Process Safety Management Systems and Hazard and Operability Studies is desirable.
