Responsibilities:
Once in post, you're responsible children and young people from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
You will conduct thorough assessments of children and families where there are concerns about abuse or neglect.
You may gather information from various sources, including the child, family members, schools, healthcare providers and other relevant parties, to evaluate the level of risk and determine appropriate interventions.
You will develop and implement child protection plans aimed at mitigating risks and ensuring the safety of children.
For best practise, you will be up to date with modern legislation along with council policy & processes.
You will ensure all administration, is typed up clearly to a high standard, as to be presented in the court arena.
You may foster good relationships with legal services and local family courts to manage efficient and effective legal planning meetings, public law outlines & court proceedings, where attempts to support children to remain within their families have not been successful.
You will become an advocate for the best interests of the children within your caseload and ensure that safeguarding measures are effectively implemented.
You'll aim to engage in preventative work, such as delivering training & awareness-raising initiatives within communities, schools and other settings to promote early identification of risks and improve safeguarding practices.
Essential Requirements:
Must have degree in Social Work & completion of ASYE
Must have 3 Years accumulative permanent experience in an English LA
Must have 3 Years experience, working with Children & Families
Must be registered with SWE
Must be willing to process an Enhanced DBS if offered. (N/A if on DBS Online Update Service)
Must have full UK drivers license with access to own car(Surrey CC is a rural county, therefore use of personal care is essential)A commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.*Candidates who do not meet the essential requirements will not be progressed.
