Job Description

Resource Teaching Assistant Location: Wakefield (near central Wakefield)  Salary: £95 - £100 per day (Experience dependent) Start Date: ASAP - January (Potential for permanent contract) PK Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Resource Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary resource provision near central Wakefield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners with complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Key Responsibilities: - Work 1:1 with a 5-year-old pupil with Autism who is non-verbal, providing tailored support to enhance their learning, communication, and social development. - Support the pupil in both mainstream classroom settings and within the resource provision. - Help the child engage with lessons, interact with peers, and develop essential skills in a nurturing and supportive environment. - Be proactive and hands-on in ensuring the child’s progress, adapting strategies to meet their individual needs. - Collaborate with the teaching staff and SEND team to create a positive, inclusive learning experience. - Work alongside other practitioners to support groups of pupils with learning activities and transitions during the day. Requirements: - Previous experience working with pupils with Autism or complex SEND is highly desirable. - Must be active, patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting young children with SEND. - Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff. - A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to fostering a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
