Job Description

I am currently looking for a number of Residential Support Workers for waking nights at a residential school in the Alfreton area. The role includes: Helping to create a positive environment for each young person’ with particular reference to his/ her safety, health and education. Helping to carry the homes ethos and values through to the young people and represent TeacherActive as a professional. Maintaining good professional practices in accordance with Ofsted Regulations and the Quality Care Standards for children’s homes. Engaging in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Ensuring the safety of young people overnight, by making regular observations and checks throughout the night. Manage challenging behaviours according to guidelines and policies The shifts are normally 21:00-08:00 but can vary week by week Applicants must have: At least 6 months experience working with young people Strong communication, organisational and time management skills A positive “can do” attitude Proficient English, Maths and ICT skills All applicants will be contacted to discuss suitability and then invited to register with TeacherActive. Registration involves an enhanced DBS check, ID checks and will require you to supply good professional references. We pride ourselves on excellent service.
