Job Title: Quality Manager
Location: Suffolk
Salary - £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
A leading manufacturer of precision-engineered components and control systems is seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager to lead their quality department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of product and process quality, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.
Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all functions.
Manage internal and external audits, ensuring readiness for third-party assessments.
Oversee customer complaint investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Monitor quality KPIs and report performance to senior management.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and implement robust processes.
Lead root cause analysis activities using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and FMEA.
Manage and develop the quality team to support business and operational goals.
Support new product introduction (NPI) projects from a quality perspective, ensuring effective quality planning and validation.
Drive supplier quality performance and development initiatives. Required Experience & Skills:
Proven experience in a Quality Management role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality tools/methodologies (FMEA, SPC, 8D, etc.).
Experience in managing audits and leading cross-functional quality investigations.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to engage and influence at all levels of the business.
Familiarity with working in a regulated, customer-focused environment. Desirable:
Experience with precision components, control systems, or electromechanical assemblies.
Knowledge of additional standards such as ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 is an advantage.
