Quality Engineer– Civil Engineering

Are you a Quality Engineer looking to develop your career on a high profile Civil Engineering project? Then a role with this market leading Contractor could be for you.
My client is a multi-billion Civil Engineering Contractor delivering an iconic Civil Engineering project in the South West. They are looking for a Quality Engineer with a strong civils background, to be part of a team tasked with delivering a £100m scheme. The ideal candidate will have come from an Engineering background, having worked on heavy civils schemes.
As a Quality Engineer your duties and responsibilities will include;
* Support the Quality Manager in ensuring that LTQR's are completed
* Ensure that NCR's and defects are closed out in accordance with procedure
* Implement and use the appropriate digital systems to monitor the performance of quality planning / production of quality deliverables / managing of issues against targets
* Implementation of the annual audit programme, carrying out local and supplier audits in line with its objectives, and supporting contracts with BB and external certification audits
* Assist in training, coaching and developing quality skills in business / project streams, including sharing lessons learned
* Work towards gaining the Chartered member grade of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI)
Core Skills required for this post include –
* Experience in a quality role, heavily regulated or MoD site backgrounds would be ideal
* An understanding and commitment to Quality Management
* Prior Quality experience and/or relevant operational / technical experience to meet industry sector demands
* Has an enquiring and questioning approach to audit work and experience in managing accreditation audits
* Experience in driving business improvement and leading change within a business
* Is good at building relationships and can influence effectively
* Can deliver reports orally and written in an objective manner
* Ability to challenge existing methods and ways of thinking
The following qualifications are essential:
* A Civil Engineering qualification
* Level 4+ Qualification in Quality, Engineering, Construction or Manufacturing (relevant industry)
