Job Description

Social Worker - Child Protection Team, Camden Salary: Up to £50,706 per annum + Zone 1 & 2 travel allowance (£1,628) + Social Work England fee reimbursement Camden is at the forefront of radical social change, committed to building a thriving, inclusive borough where nobody gets left behind. Join our dynamic Child Protection Team and help us ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families. Role Responsibilities: Hold and manage a complex caseload of child protection cases, ensuring children are safeguarded and their needs are met. Undertake investigations, risk assessments, and Section 47 enquiries. Develop and implement child protection plans and review their effectiveness regularly. Prepare detailed court reports and give evidence in family court proceedings as required. Work collaboratively with families, ensuring their voices are heard and included in care plans. Liaise effectively with multi-agency partners to provide a holistic approach to safeguarding. Ensure compliance with statutory guidelines, policies, and procedures. About You: Qualified Social Worker with a degree, diploma, or equivalent in Social Work. A minimum of 2 years of post-qualifying experience in child protection. In-depth knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and related legislation. Experience in undertaking Section 47 enquiries, child protection planning, and court work. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make evidence-based decisions. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work with families and professionals.
