Purchasing Officer - Up to £35k Salary - Free Parking On-Site A small manufacturer of CNC Cutting machinery based in Maldon are looking for a Purchasing Officer. Due to the size of the company, we are looking for an al-rounder, preferably someone with experience in the manufacturing industry where you have been in a hands on role. This is a varied position whereby you will be purchasing parts for machinery, mechanical assembly when needed or operating a counterbalance forklift. This is not a role for someone who prefers to be purchasing all day, everyday. Hours for the role are 7am till 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7am till 1pm on Fridays. Purchasing Officer Responsibilities:- Buying and vendor selection (seeking alternatives as standard) Managing external sub-contractors Cost optimisation and reporting Lead time planning Occasional machine assembly Ensure stock controls are in place Operating a counterbalance forkliftSkills needed:- A strong background in manufacturing and production Analytically and numerically astute Commercial and financial awareness with an understanding of how failure impacts production A mechanical engineering background Full clean driving license is essentialThis is a permanent role subject to you passing a 13 week probation.
