Job Description

Our client, specialising in the supply of quality-assured oilfield equipment, spare parts, and consumables is currently recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant. The role will be based in Aberdeen and can be offered on a contract or permanent (staff) basis. ROLE The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for managing purchase orders, liaising with other members of the Sales Team, communicating with suppliers, and handling all aspects of the purchasing process. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the selection and purchasing of materials, supplies, and equipment in accordance with company needs. Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and secure the best terms for purchasing. Track and manage purchase orders from creation to delivery. Maintain and update the supplier database, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in communication. Ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues related to supply chain delays. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., finance, logistics, and inventory) to ensure all orders are properly processed. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering products to avoid stockouts or overstock situations. Review and process invoices from suppliers, ensuring that they match purchase orders and receipt of goods. Maintain organized and accurate records of all purchases and related correspondence. Assist in preparing reports related to purchasing activity, budgets, and cost-saving initiatives. Support the Purchasing Manager in supplier evaluations and audits. REQUIREMENTS: Experience in Purchase Orders and procurement processes Strong Analytical Skills Effective Communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of Purchasing procedures and best practices Experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus
