Key Responsibilities:
Strip and build of prototype transmissions, following prototype build manuals with support from the engineering team
Identify and implement improvements in build processes and learning for future phases
Fault finding of transmission build and manufacturing issues
Strip and inspect unfamiliar transmissions without instruction
Have a fundamental understanding of different transmission types, functions, and components
Carry out instrumentation and modifications of test units as per engineering requests
Raise issues found during build and participate in subsequent 8D reports
Understand and adhere to storage/part picking processes with assistance from engineering teams
Maintain good housekeeping of facilities and workshops
Key Competencies and Experience:
Extensive experience with a large range of complex assemblies in a prototype build environment
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and validate manufactured parts quality
Familiarity with accurate measurement techniques, supporting bespoke build characteristics (Manual or CMM)
Experience in fabrication/modification on bespoke hardware
Machining experience including lathe, mill, pillar drill, welding, etc.
Good mechanical understanding of prototype build processes and ability to identify design and manufacturing faults

Ability to work flexibly to achieve deadlines
Capacity to tackle unfamiliar tasks with limited guidance or supervision
