About the Role
An established and forward-thinking main contractor is looking for a skilled Project Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of projects. Reporting to the Project Manager and Commercial Lead, you will play a key role in procurement, cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile construction projects and develop within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Commercial Management – Oversee cost control, risk management, and financial reporting for construction projects.
Procurement & Subcontract Management – Assist in procurement strategy, subcontractor appointments, and ensure contract compliance.
Cost Control & Value Engineering – Monitor project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive efficiencies.
Cash Flow & Valuations – Prepare valuations, issue invoices, and manage client and subcontractor payments.
Change Control & Risk Management – Identify, evaluate, and manage changes, ensuring all additional costs are recovered.
Contract Administration – Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, prepare subcontract notices, and manage final accounts.
Reporting & Forecasting – Prepare CVRs, financial forecasts, and ensure accurate cost tracking.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor in construction.
Strong commercial awareness with experience in procurement, cost management, and contract negotiation.
Understanding of NEC/JCT contracts and construction law.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple project responsibilities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
