Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Planner to manage customer sales orders and forecasts while developing efficient weekly production schedules. This role is crucial in ensuring customer demands and production deadlines are met by aligning capacity and inventory levels with demand forecasts.
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with customers to understand their schedules and forecasts.
Identify, communicate, and follow up on significant trends and demand changes to create long- and short-term capacity plans.
Receive, input, and maintain customer orders in the SAP system.
Work closely with the commercial, production, and purchasing teams to ensure orders are fulfilled on time.
Coordinate with the Technical team to prioritise new designs and design changes in line with production deadlines.
Develop capacity plans based on resource availability.
Analyse production demands and create schedules to meet customer requirements.
Liaise with site coordinators for production schedule sign-off and communicate priorities to the production team.
Schedule and, if required, re-schedule production orders to maintain OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) delivery.
Identify and resolve production disruptions and bottlenecks in coordination with site coordinators.
Ensure timely release of production orders to align with customer expectations.
Monitor inventory levels to minimise excess stock and reduce stockholding costs.
Support logistics operators to ensure the OTIF delivery of finished goods.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in production planning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in MRP functionality within SAP, including scheduling logic, order policies, product structures, routings, and shop floor control.
Commercial awareness and financial acumen to effectively manage costs.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
